For weeks now, numerous Google Pixel 8 series users have been reporting constant Wi-Fi connectivity performance issues on their mesh networks. Now, it seems that their complaints were finally heard and that the fix arrived with the latest Pixel December Feature Drop update.

Google Pixel 8 Wi-Fi issues on mesh networks apparently fixed with the Pixel December update

According to affected users, the experience of using a Google Pixel 8 or 8 Pro on a mesh network was quite frustrating due to problems such as inexplicably slow speeds and constant connection drops, sometimes even being unable to connect their devices to the network.

However, now several Pixel 8 series users are reporting that installing the latest Pixel December Featured Drop update completely fixed the issue for them, which is great news. The problem has been around since at least October, so those affected spent weeks experiencing an unacceptable Wi-Fi connectivity experience for a flagship phone.

The first response that highlighted the bug fix also updated their device Google Play Services version to the latest version available, so it is also recommended to do that in addition to installing the latest Pixel December update since it could be important for everything to work correctly.

Some few reportedly still facing the issue

It’s notewhorty that there are still some users for whom even installing the latest Pixel December Feature Drop update did not solve the problem.

Anyway, the general response seems to be positive, so we recommend installing both the Pixel December update and the latest Google Play Services version. Even the Pixel December update changelog includes a possibly related mention: ‘General improvements for Wi-Fi stability and performance in certain conditions.’

If you are one of the people affected by the issue on your Google Pixel 8, feel free to tell us below about your personal Wi-Fi experience with mesh networks after installing all the latest available updates.
