Google Nest brand offers a plethora of smart home devices such as smart displays, speakers, and of course Nest Wifi, which aims to provide maximum internet signal strengths no matter where you’re at your home.

That’s the beauty of mesh routers, to provide a seamless internet browsing experience.

But, sometimes everything is not as seamless as it sounds. This is in context to the issue where Google Nest Wifi owners are unable to factory reset their device, which rather leaves the router in a completely unusable state.

The Google Nest just flashes red light with no signs of recovery even after attempting a factory reset.

As per the user, a force reboot by unplugging the cable worsened up things with no workaround whatsoever at their end.

Below is another similar situation akin to the one above where the red light blinks multiple times but fails to detect.

Tried all Help Community Suggestions. My H2D has been reset. Solid white dot. Connected on same network/router using original network cable. Google Home no longer detect the device. During detection Red dot shows up briefly then detection fails. Device has problems. How do I get this repaired by manufacturer warranty? Let me know where to go, site to visit, number to call for assistance and support. Thank you all

Google Nest Wifi unable to factory reset is an old issue

Turns out, this is an old issue as several user complaints are up on Google Nest forums.

I’ve pulled out, and put in all the cables connected to the router and the etherealcable center in our house. Nothing connected to the wifi is working, I am seeing that by the red lights showing from the main of 3 routers.

Another similar situation, but instead of blinking red, it’s yellow. Attempting a factory reset didn’t turn around things for the affected user.

My google wifi router stopped working, when I went to see what was happening I saw the light was yellow and blinking. I checked my modem and it was working fine. I proceeded to unplug everything and followed all the instructions the assistance has. I did a factory reset and could only set back up one of my routers, the other one kept with the yellow blinking light.

When I plug it back on it starts blinking in yellow, then it does 4 red blinks and then it continues to blink in yellow forever. I tried to do a manual reset but nothing happens after holding the button for 10 seconds or 12 seconds or 15 seconds. I don’t know what else to do. Has someone had this problem?
