The Nest Hub is one of the Google devices designed to set a home security system. Through the Hub, the user can control many other connected devices around the house with voice commands.

The device has a screen, which allows you to take advantage of the capabilities of other compatible devices that integrate a camera, such as the Nest Doorbell.

But, in recent weeks, The Nest Hub and the Nest Doorbell have suffered from some issues that limit its functionality a bit.

Google Nest Hub ‘camera feed is not available’ error message

Normally, when someone presses the button of a Google Nest Doorbell connected to a Nest Hub, the latter displays the camera feed.

However, ultimately this does not happen. According to multiple reports, when someone presses the Google Nest Doorbell button, the Nest Hub screen will only show a ‘camera feed is not available’ error message.

Bought a Nest Hub 2nd gen yesterday and have a Nest Doorbell (batter). When the doorbell is pressed, the screen will say “camera feed is not available” . The hub will ring and say someone is at the door. Phones will display the video just fine as a notification. If I ask the hub to display the video it works fine – only issue is it won’t display the camera feed when the doorbell is pressed.

In these cases, the Nest Hub is only capable of ringing and warning that someone is at the door. On the other hand, if the user asks for a live video to be shown, the Nest Hub does it correctly.

Installed a new Nest Hub Max and a new Nest Doorbell (with battery). When the doorbell is pressed, the screen on Nest Hub max says “camera feed is not available” . The Nest Hub rings and says ‘someone is at the door’. Phones issue a notification and displays the video just fine. If I ask the Nest Hub to display the live video, it works fine – only issue is it won’t display the camera feed when the doorbell is pressed. Anyone know how to fix?

Google Nest Hub ‘camera feed is not available’ error message

A Community Specialist on the Nest support forum confirmed that the reported issue is under investigation. For now, there is no ETA for the fix, but it recommends trying to restart or factory reset the Hub.

Hey folks,

I am still currently looking into this issue at this time. I will update very soon, hopefully with a fix or suggestions. Try your best to restart, or even Factory Reset your devices to do your own troubleshooting steps.

Best Regards,

Brad.
