Google Nest Cam with Floodlight runs out of battery for some users despite being wired

The Google Nest Cam is one of the company’s IoT devices that allows users to set a security system at home. It is available in both wired and wireless versions.

However, it seems that some users are facing issues with their wired Google Nest Cam, which are related to its battery life.

According to multiple reports, the Google Nest Cam with Floodlight runs out of battery even though it is the wired version.

The user reports coincide in the same situation. Although the device makes use of cables, it still consumes battery.

Floodlight camera is wired but battery runs out

I recently installed a floodlight camera wired, and shortly after the the floodlight controls disappeared from the app and now the camera battery is draining. I did factory reset ut this did not help has anyone else had this problem? Has anyone got a fix for this? Thinking of returning asap .

Nest floodlight Camera runs out of battery

Hello, I bought the camera with floodlight. It is wired in and the floodlight is able to detect motion and turn on at all times.

My problem is with the camera battery. It switches from showing the infinity symbol to a percentage and at then out of battery. Eventually it gets enough charge to turn back on. The cycle repeats daily.

One user reports that after contacting Nest support, they said that the device’s camera runs on battery power, while just the Floodlight uses cable.

Here is the answer I got from Nest. Ludicrous. Said the camera is battery only, the floodlight is wired. So, if that’s true, Nest expects many users to climb up 20′ to pull the camera down to charge? An if so, why wasn’t a charging cable included with the product? Of course, the answer is total BS.
