Google Meet users on Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 report echo issues during meetings

Multiple reports describe complaints related to an annoying echo problem. The echo appears during meetings through the Google Meet app on Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 devices.

Need help with echoing voice in Google meet.

Hi, I am using Google meet for my kid online class through Google classroom. And I am using samsung tab a7. From last week I am facing echoing issue. When I un mute the other person will hear his own voice multiple times (echoing their own voice in their device). When I mute they say it will be proper. I tried troubleshooting by deleting cache and some more steps as per samsung customer help service but nothing worked. And in there other app like whatsapp fb video chat I am not facing this issue. Please help.

Clearing the Google Meet app cache and data reportedly did not help to resolve the bug. However, it seems that using a microphone helps to improve the sound quality a bit and to suppress the echo.

Hi, my daughter has tried to use her tablet while using Google meet but everyone keeps complaining about the echo. We’ve tried to use headsets and it improves the sound a little bit better however, she is attending 1st grade so She should be able to have classes with no headsets on so I can help her. I even thought echo was being caused due to the case and tried removing it but didn’t work either. Please advise how to fix this asap.

The problem would be related to the app, not the device

The problem of the echo in Google Meet would be directly related to an update of the app. This is reported by some users who claim that the web version of Meet works perfectly on the Galaxy Tab A7.

This definatedly seems to be a recent update issue.
It is not the hardware, because doing Google Meet in the browser sounds fine.

Using Google Meet from the app, gives a huge echo for the receiver.
Did anyone try to install an older version of Meet?

@rupert, we have 60 devices in company that all suddenly have the same issue after update.

The previous report notes that the bug appeared suddenly on 60 devices at once. So, it could all be due to a recent Google Meet update, but this has yet to be confirmed.

In the coming days, if there is any new development in this regard, we will update this article. So, stay tuned with us.
