In its recent announcement showcasing all that’s new with Google Home and Nest, the company confirmed that the Pixel-exclusive Home Panel is headed to more Android devices.

The Home Panel, a feature that was restricted to Pixel smartphones and the Pixel Tablet, grants users quick and easy control over their smart home devices. By facilitating swift access to Spaces and Favorites directly from the lock screen and through a dedicated tile in the Quick Settings menu, the Home Panel streamlines the process of managing various aspects of one’s smart home environment.

That said, Google has finally decided to remove the Pixel exclusivity of Home Panel. The feature will now be available on non-Pixel smartphones with the Android 14 update. This means, you’ll soon be able to get your hands on Home Panel’s functionality.

The Home Panel is one of the many features that Google is bringing to its smart home ecosystem. The company also announced more control options for compatible fans and sensors in the Google Home app, new automation starters and actions for Household Routines, and Seasonal Savings for all Nest thermostats.

Android 14 is yet to see a wide release on non-Pixel phones, however, we expect the update to begin hitting recent models from Samsung, OnePlus, Xiaomi and others on a wider scale in the coming weeks.
