Previously, Google provided support for their Pixel phone users via their official X (formerly Twitter) account, or through the official community forum. However, it seems that Google is now expanding its presence on Reddit as well to offer additional support to Pixel users. Following the announcement, which was made on the Google Pixel sub-reddit back in March 2023, Google is now actively responding to users on Reddit who are facing problems with their Pixel phone.

Users can seek Google’s assistance for Pixel phones on Reddit

Back in March 2023, Google announced its intention to engage more actively with Pixel users on Reddit. This change suggests that Reddit is becoming a viable platform for Pixel support. The announcement outlined Google’s plans to increase its interactions with users on Reddit. Google said that they will send messages or chats to users more frequently to help them with the issues they are facing with their Pixel devices. Additionally, Google promised to provide information on known issues they were actively investigating.

Although not right after the announcement, Google gradually started answering the queries of users on Reddit from September. They are providing assistance to users by suggesting troubleshooting tips, directing users to relevant help articles, and, in some cases, guiding them towards phone or chat support for further assistance.

Before this change, Google’s engagement with Reddit was sporadic, with users sometimes waiting for months to receive a response. In contrast, their presence on X was consistently more active.

How this will benefit users

So, how does this expanded presence on Reddit benefit Pixel users? Firstly, compared to Google forums, Reddit users can expect faster and more direct responses from the Google team. Secondly, the Reddit platform boasts a highly active user base, which means that in addition to Google’s assistance, users can also receive input and potential solutions from fellow Pixel owners.

This new approach benefits both the Google team and the users. Users can contribute by offering insights into the depth and status of the bugs or issues they encounter. This will help Google get into the depths of the issues and quickly come up with a fix.
