Lately, Google Classroom users have been experiencing some issues when trying to use the educational tool.

For instance, until a few hours ago, there was a total outage on the platform servers. Fortunately, teachers and students can now access their accounts.

However, there is another couple of issues that are preventing some features from being used. Multiple Google Classroom users are unable to copy a class, and edited PDFs are not saving on Android.

According to reports, there are numerous Google Classroom users who cannot copy a class or classroom. When they try to do it, they just get a ‘There was an error. Please try again’ message.

When I try to copy a class from google classroom I constantly get an error message. Tried on multiple devices, Deleted cookies etc., tried multiple browsers but I still get the error.

Copy classroom is not working

For several weeks, I have been trying to copy a class that I am the owner of. I have restarted my computer, logged in from incognito, cleared cache and cookies, and tried from a different browser – and it is still not working. I still get the message, “There was an error. Please try again.”

There are some cases where users can copy a classroom, but it’s not working properly since the attached assignments files disappear while at it.

Classroom Copy Failing

Hi! I’m trying to make a copy of a large, year-long classroom for newer teachers at my school. As it copies, the attachments are not copying correctly. Each time I attempt to copy, the vast majority of assignments loose their attachments.

According to a Google Product Expert, the company is already aware of the bug. Unfortunately, there is no workaround or ETA for a fix.

Edited PDFs are not saving on Android app

Some Google Classroom users are also dealing with an issue where edited PDFs are not saving. According to reports, the glitch is affecting the Android Classroom app. The iOS app is working properly.

Classroom App on Android: does not save correction

On my iPad, I can open the Classroom app, open a student’s PDF, edit to correct it and it will create a new version in my student’s classwork. On my Android tablet, I used to be able to do it, but now it won’t save.

Edited files are no longer saved

Previously, I can edit pdf and docs files: I can draw by stylus right over the file, press “save”, and app will save all my changes as new file right near the student’s original file. It’s not working anymore for several days: when I press “save”, the app just do nothing.

This bug is also already in the hands of the developer team, according to a Google Product Expert. Similar to the first problem, there is still no workaround or ETA for a fix.

Alaa. This is a known problem. The Classroom team is working on it. There is no estimated time for a fix or a workaround.
