Google Chrome print function not working, crashing or taking too long to load preview for some users

Google Chrome recently received the v112.0.5615.49/50 update that brings bug fixes to some known issues and some performance improvements. However, it looks like the latest patch has introduced some bugs as well.

According to reports (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8), some Google Chrome users are facing issues in printing a document or a webpage from within the browser itself.

It is alleged that the browser would stop responding or crash as soon as one tries to give the command to print.

While some others claim that on giving the print command they are just displayed the processing spinning wheel in the destination field.

The issue has popped up after a recent update and affects users across multiple platforms.

A user complains that after the recent update, the web browser takes a long time to load the print preview.

Even though they have tried connecting different printers and uninstalling and reinstalling the printer drivers, but could not get rid of the problem.

Another user alleges that on pressing the print button they get a ‘something went wrong’ error message.

It is shown that something went wrong there is an issue and page didn’t load.

Whenever I am on any website, attempting to open the print dialog (Ctrl-P) causes chrome to stop responding.

Those affected have tried clearing the cache, disabling hardware acceleration, resetting the browser profile, uninstalling, and reinstalling the app, but to no avail. They are now requesting the developers to resolve this issue soon.

Unfortunately, Google has not officially responded to the matter. But, we are hopeful that the company will resolve these problems shortly.

That said, we’ll keep an eye on the issue where the print function is not working, crashing, or taking too long to load the preview on Google Chrome.
