Google’s stock apps are crazy popular among Android users but they’re not exclusive to these users. Many Google apps and services are available across a wide range of platforms.

iOS users can install many of Google’s apps and services directly from the App Store and many of these work just as well on iPhones as they do on Android.

One of these Google apps is Google Calendar. This organizer, time-management, and scheduling calendar service has been available for Google users for years now and is available on the Web, Android, and iOS just to mention a few.

The seamlessness with which this service syncs with Google accounts and other Google services is perhaps one of its biggest selling points. That and its ease of use.

One of the features that is appealing about this service for Android users is the fact that you don’t have to open the app to see the current date.

This, as the app’s icon on the launcher, is often that of the current date, at least in supported launchers. For more on how to get this to work on your skinned version of Android, check out this detailed guide.

iOS users have been missing out on this as the Google Calendar app’s icon on the home screen has always been the generic ’31’ and not the current date. Well, this could be changing soon.

In response to one of the concerned iOS users, Google Calendar’s official Twitter handle has responded, noting that they’re aware and currently reviewing this feature.

Hi Taylor. The team is aware of this issue and it is currently under review. Please submit in-product feedback: https://goo.gle/37YOQmJ. Thanks.

To help their case, Google Calendar is asking iOS users to continue submitting their in-product feedback for the Google Calendar current date icon on iOS.

Of course, we don’t know when this feature will be ported over to the iPhone but users remain hopeful. We shall continue to keep an eye on this and update as and when we get new info so stay tuned.

NOTE: We have these and many more Google Calendar stories in our dedicated Google section so stay tuned.
