Google Assistant is one of those features that has totally completely changed the way people interact with their devices. The AI-powered virtual assistant has added several new features in the last few years.

Apart from engaging in two-way conversations, Google Assistant can also control devices connected to the Home app using simple voice commands such as ‘Turn off the light.’ Recently, Google introduced the ability to perform multiple actions known as Routines.

Routines can perform several actions such as change the sound profiles, announce weather, control smart devices, turning on bedtime mode, and many more.

To get users started, Google has also included some preset users can use to learn the functionality and customize later on. Users can simply say ‘Hey Google, open Routine settings’ to manage existing routines or create new ones.

With that being said, some Google Assistant users said that they are unable to add any new actions since the ‘adjust home devices’ list is empty. This is really frustrating for those who want to turn on their home devices at a set time or reduce the light brightness at night.

Hello everyone! So, my brother and I are connected to the same wifi network, under the same home on the google home app. While creating a scene, I can see all the items on “adjust home devices”, but for him the list is empty. Same with my parents. This list only shows up on my phone and no-one else’s. Is there something i’m missing? Thanks!

Also happening to me. I bought a new Google Nest to replace my Amazon Echo. I did this because the Echo device can’t control my Chromecast. I see now it was a bad decision. I can control my Chromecast, but I can’t set up any routine involving my devices, the page is empty, no error message. Routines were a breeze with Amazon Alexa, never had problem.

It is interesting to note that all devices are visible when users try to add an action to “Household Routines.” Some said they were able to resolve the issue by changing the Assistant to English and removing other languages.

Thankfully, a Diamond Product Expert said that the issue has already been escalated to Google for further investigation.

This issue has been escalated to the Google product team for further investigation.
