Back in 2012, Gmail overtook Hotmail to become the email service with the largest user base and has managed to retain its position ever since.

With more than 1.8 billion active users worldwide, Gmail is set to dominate the landscape for years to come.

Nonetheless, Gmail users rarely come across serious bugs and issues. But at times, users do encounter some really weird issues such as Gmail automatically downloading .ogg files on Android devices.

Having said that, the latest issue that is baffling a lot of Gmail users is the ^f_bisa’ label.

According to reports, the ^f_bisa label is automatically appearing for some Gmail users. People say they haven’t created any label or filter.

Even if they try to delete the label, Gmail automatically recreates it immediately or after a few minutes.

A strange label named ^f_bisa has appearing. Whenever I remove it, it reappears again. I have not created it, I have not created any label in the last month, and I have not created any new filter – all the filters I have is to delete spam, not creating any kind of label. Clicking it shows 0 e-mails and writing ^f_bisa in the search doesn’t show any e-mail or contact with that name. Any idea on what could be happening?

While the label does not break any feature, it is really irritating and confusing for people who use labels to sort out emails.

Google says the issue is because some third-party app, extension or add-on is using the label.

A potential workaround for the problem includes blacklisting ‘sidekickopen45.com’ but doing so might result in users missing out on important emails.

Sidekick is an email read receipt tool that is used by many businesses and individuals to keep track of sent emails.

But some user reports indicate that the issue is happening with users who have never used any third-party tool or service. Some suggest that it might be caused by a browser extension.

Right now, the ^f_bisa label looks like a Gmail bug and does not seem to be a security issue. We will update this article once we find more, so make sure to check this space for further updates!
