Fortnite is currently the most popular battle-royale game in the world. Although it offers some other modes, the battle-royale seems to be preferred by most of its players.

Fortnite is available as a free-to-play game. So, for its monetization it uses the ‘game as a service’ model where it is always receiving new content to maintain the interest of the players.

That said, Fortnite players are currently facing a glitch where the lobby background color gets stuck on blue (1, 2, 3).

Fortnite lobby background gets stuck on blue color

In Fortnite, the lobby is a section that appears before starting a ‘Battle Royale’ or ‘Save the World’ game. Normally, the background lobby adapts to the map you are going to start playing.

However, according to multiple reports, the background of the Fortnite lobby is not loading correctly, as it gets stuck on the base blue color.

Main menu screen is a default blue. For some reason it does not change theme. Anyone know why?

If anyone could help me it would be amazing. I started playing a month ago and for some reason my main menu is just a default blue background. There is no theme to it

Official acknowledgment, potential workarounds

The Epic Games team is already aware of the problem and is working on a fix. But, there are no details yet on an ETA for its deployment.

In the meantime, there is a workaround that reportedly helps to resolve the bug. The workaround is to simply change the game language to Arabic, and then switch back to your original language.

Epic Games itself offers its own workarounds as well:

Changing the language to another language and back again, or relaunching Fortnite, or simply playing a match and returning to the lobby should update the lobby background.
