According to reports, many players encountered an issue where, upon trying to log in through the launcher, they were initially met with a message saying, “Please wait while we update.” Subsequently, they faced the aforementioned ‘AS-3’ error.

The cause of this issue remains unclear, but there are speculations suggesting it may be linked to third-party software, network connection settings, or interference from VPNs or proxy servers.

Acknowledgments and Workarounds

In response to the growing reports, the official support team at EPIC has shared a statement acknowledging an issue causing players to encounter an AS-3 error when logging in on PC. They believe this is related to third-party software and have reached out to address the problem.

While actively investigating and working on a fix, the support team has proposed a temporary workaround. According to them, players can temporarily resolve the issue by restarting their Wi-Fi router or connecting through a mobile hotspot if available, and then switching back to their router.

Additionally, some players have shared their own workarounds:

  1. Using a VPN to sign into the game.
  2. Uninstalling and reinstalling the Epic launcher.

These workarounds come from players experiencing the same issue, and their effectiveness is uncertain. Users should exercise caution, especially with the VPN method, as there are reports suggesting EPIC may take action against users employing VPNs to log into the game.

There is no official release date for the EPIC fix, but assurances have been provided that it may be released soon.
