Forspoken pre-release chaos: Obnoxious PC specs requirements, suspected performance issues & more

Square Enix’s upcoming action role-playing game, Forspoken, chronicles the experience of Frey. She is a young New Yorker who is accidentally sent to the mythological realm of Athia.

Forspoken was positioned as a technological showpiece for the PS5 and PC since the beginning. However, the game (which is set to release on January 24) is already enfolding humongous chaos.

With that said, the game has seemingly wreaked havoc, especially among PC players. It’s mostly about the issues pertaining to specs requirements followed by some performance-related problems (1,2,3,4,5,6).

Players were really astonished to learn that one may require an RTX 3070 graphics card (or equivalent), 24GB RAM, and 150GB SSD storage just to run the game.

Some even assume or worry that the PC version of the game will run poorly given that it only received a PS5 demo, which was lackluster.

I think the negativity is stemming mainly from the system requirements and expected level of performance on PC. PS5 version should be solid though.

Not just that, the game’s terrible voice acting has also drawn criticism from fans (1,2,3,4,5,6) on social media after a recent gameplay clip leak.

Resultantly, the game has received a lot of unfavorable feedback. Hence, it becomes obvious that gamers aren’t really excited to purchase the game either (1,2,3,4,5,6).

It’s also worth noting that dedicated fans of the game are still hopeful. But the severe criticism of the title is really disheartening for them.

Despite the tremendous ridicule and backlash, the developers haven’t officially said anything about the matter at hand.

In that case, we can only advise buyers of the Forspoken game to hold off on purchasing until both PC and PS5 release reviews are available.
