Fix in works for Disney SpeedStorm crashing issue on PS5

Disney’s latest hero-based racing game, Speedstorm, has drawn criticism from PS5 players, who claim that the game keeps crashing, prompting players to express their frustration on social media. In an attempt to address the situation, the developers swiftly issued an official statement.

Disney Speedstorm is a hero-based combat racing game featuring Disney and Pixar characters. Players can master each character’s unique skills on high-speed circuits inspired by various Disney and Pixar worlds.

The game is available for free on PC, Xbox, PS5, and mobile devices. However, according to reports, the PS5 version is not functioning properly. Social media reports claim that the game rarely gets past the title screen before crashing.

Currently, the issue appears to be isolated to PS5 users. Nevertheless, there have been rare instances where players on other platforms have also reported experiencing performance issues.

With reports continuing to surface, the developers promptly provided an update on the issue. According to the statement, the official support team is aware of the issue and is currently investigating it. They intend to issue an update to fix the issue soon.

Until the developers issue the fix, here’s a workaround for PS5 users:

• Select Settings
• Select “Storage”
• Select “Console Storage” on the left, then select “Save Data” on the right.
• Select “PS5 Games,” or “PS4 Games”
• Tick the box next to the files you want to delete and select Delete.
• Launch the game again.

With this method, players can delete their save data, which can potentially fix the issue.

While this workaround has been shared by the official developers on Discord, it is important to note that deleting save data could have serious repercussions. It is strongly recommended to exercise caution when using this method.
