Overwatch is one of the most famous FPS multiplayer games of all time. Released in 2016, it is developed and published by Blizzard Entertainment.

Players have the option to choose from a collection of heroes, each having unique abilities. Teams have to work together to achieve certain objectives within the specified timeframe.

However, issues such as players unable to see their profile on the top 500 leaderboards and the audio bug where sound cuts off on Xbox have been troubling many in the last few months.

That said, Overwatch players are now reporting another issue where the open mic setting keeps reverting to push to talk. It looks like the problem is frustrating many who are used to talking to their friends while playing the game.

Some say they tried reinstalling the game, logging out and back into their Blizzard account but to no avail.

Here are some reports from Overwatch players for whom the open mic setting keeps reverting to push to talk (1,2,3).

“Open mic” keeps reverting to “push to talk.”
We’ve all had issues with voice chat in some form or another, but this one is completely new to me, and I haven’t found a post anywhere with steps to fix it. I prefer to use the open mic and un-mute myself when I want to speak, but my game keeps reverting to push to talk when I exit. Anybody else come across this issue and have a fix?(Source)

Every since the new Anniversary update it’s been doing this. I have a mute button so I don’t dedicate an entire finger to a button when I do callouts 50% of the game ANYWAY. This is frustrating because every time I launch the game, it automatically resets my settings to Push to Talk, and it’s only been doing it for about a day and a half now… But everything I’ve tried to fix it won’t do anything.

Thankfully, Blizzard Entertainment quickly acknowledged the Overwatch issue where open mic setting keeps reverting to push to talk whenever players launch the game.

As it turns out, they are already working on a fix, but there is no ETA for when the problem will be resolved.

We hope Overwatch developers soon fix the problem since it is affecting the gameplay experience for many. As always, we will be keeping an eye out on the matter and let you know once it is resolved so stay tuned for updates.
