Fitbit has a big portfolio of fitness and health trackers that people use alongside their Android and iOS devices.

While Fitbit watches are quite popular, they can also cause inconvenience to users at times. Now, a notifications issue is affecting those with the Fitbit Versa 3 and Charge 4 models.

As per some reports, users of the Versa 3 and Charge 4 are not receiving notifications because of an error message in the Fitbit app.

The Fitbit app keeps on showing the ‘Notification service is not running. A phone restart is required to re-enable notifications on your tracker’ error message.

This message does not go away even after restarting the phone and watch multiple times and is further preventing users from setting up notifications in the Fitbit app.

Also, it seems that the ‘Notification service is not running.’ error message is only troubling Fitbit users with Huawei devices.

However, this is still based on our speculation as most reports regarding this problem are from Huawei users.

Moreover, Fitbit is aware of this problem and has even provided a workaround for affected users with Huawei devices.

The workaround involves switching off the Power-intensive prompt option found in the Battery section of the Fitbit app Apps and notifications settings.

After switching off the Power-intensive prompt option users must select the Launch option and also switch off the Manage automatically option.

Once done, users have to switch on the Auto-launch, Secondary launch, and Run in background options then select OK.

While this workaround is resolving the problem for those with Huawei devices, a permanent solution for the same is still required.

Hopefully, Fitbit soon fixes this issue so that users can set up notifications for their trackers without any hassle.
