Firefox is one of the oldest and most popular used by millions to surf the internet every day. Initially released in 2002. Over the years, Firefox introduced several new features that are now adopted by Opera and Chrome.

However, the web browser’s popularity has declined a lot thanks to new internet browsers that serve as alternatives with some offering better features. Unsurprisingly, Firefox accounts for a mere 3.91% of browser market share worldwide.

Nonetheless, Firefox still receives frequent updates that squash out bugs while introducing some like the recent issue where Firefox for iPadOS opens blank or duplicate tabs.

Now, Firefox users are now reporting that they are unable to watch anything on Netflix, YouTube TV, Amazon Prime Video and other streaming services. Netflix users say they are getting an error saying ‘Firefox is outdated’ with some getting ‘Netflix Error F7121-3078.’

Some Amazon Prime Video users say that the problem is affecting them too while others say it is working just fine. Last but not the least, YouTube TV showing an error that says ‘Sorry, there was an error licensing this video’.

Suddenly YTTV constantly buffers or says there was licensing problem. This happened a few weeks ago and I got it working again after signing out and in. Today that doesn’t work. I then tried Netflix and it says it no longer supports this version of Firefox and I should update. I get error F7121-3078. I looked in my Firefox settings and it says it’s up to date (94.0.2). Any suggestions on what to try next.

When I try to play Netflix videos with Firefox version 94.0.2 I am getting the error message “Netflix Error F7121-3078” it says that my browser is no longer supported and to upgrade to the latest version. I’ve already done that but the error messages continue. This all started on December 1st. I have tried the solutions related to Error F7121-3078, but they have not resolved the issue. I even downloaded Firefox version 95.0b12, but I still get the same browser not supported – please upgrade message.

Many say they are on the latest version of Firefox, suggesting that the issue surfaced after a recent update. Firefox users are seemingly frustrated since Netflix and others streaming services are not working for the last few days.

Some even tried clearing their browser data, resetting and reinstalling Firefox altogether but to no avail. Users suggest that the issue is related to an outdated Widevine plug-in that is preventing them using these services.

Thankfully, Firefox Support has acknowledged the issue and said that they are currently investigating it. However, they did not share any timeframe on when the Firefox Netflix streaming issue will be fixed.

With reports coming from those running Firefox 94.0.2 and Firefox 90.0.2, it looks like Firefox 95.0b12 is working just fine.

In the meantime, users can update their browser to the aforementioned version or wait for Firefox to release a fix. As always, we will be keeping tab of further developments on the matter and update this space when they release a fix.
