Here’s the crux of the article in video form:

FIFA 23 is one of the most popular soccer video games in the world, with millions of fans playing it online or offline.

It is the grand finale of the FIFA series that has been developed by EA Sports for three decades, and the last one to bear the FIFA name.

FIFA 23 injury theory

A rumor has recently circulated in the FIFA community that player cards in Ultimate Team are suffering from permanent hidden injuries (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8).

Gamers claim that some players in FIFA 23 Ultimate Team mode can suffer from permanent injuries that lower their stats and abilities, without the user being aware of it.

These injuries are different from the normal ones that can be healed with injury cards.

The hidden injuries are not visible in the player’s bio or status, but they can be detected by looking at the player’s history in the FIFA Companion or Web app.

NickRTFM tested this theory and found that multiple players in his squad had this injury glitch.

@aa9skill yo skillz check your web app to see if any of your players have hidden injuries. if you watch @NickRTFM one of his recent videos on his clips channel he shows that EA added hidden injuries to your players

My starting RB over 400+ games has an upper body injury. FML. EA has some ‘splainin to do. This is actual fraud in that people are spending real money for cards etc. If this is shown to be EA’s enticement to get people to spend money then they have significant legal issues.

Injuries can affect attributes of the player, such as pace, shooting, passing, dribbling, defending, or physicality, and sort of nerf them.

Due to this, some gamers feel that these hidden injuries are the reason why a good player suddenly started feeling slow, misplaced passes, and no longer felt the same in-game(1,2,3,4,5).

While others say that they have seen no effect of this glitch while playing the game(1,2,3).

But my capdevilla has Knee injury and is still amazing and i cant find a diference in performance

People are even claiming that EA did this to keep gamers buying new cards and completing new SBCs. Some believe they should be sued if this is done on purpose (1,2,3).

Could be a visual glitch

NepentheZ, a prominent FIFA YouTuber for years, feels that this is something related to a visual glitch with the Companion or the web app.

Several FIFA players seem to agree with him and feel that it’s nothing more than a visual glitch and could be fixed in a future update (1,2,3,4,5).

Potential workaround

We have come across a potential workaround that fixes this glitch. All you need to do is select the affected player cards and keep them in the substitutes or reserve section in your active squad:

I think it is when you use a healing card after he got injured. But if you put him for the amount of inured games on the reserve, it will disapear. Even if you already healed him

After a few games, go back and check the player information within the Web or Companion app, and the injury should be gone.

That said, we will keep an eye out on the latest development regarding the FIFA 23 injury theory and update this story as and when anything noteworthy comes to our notice.
