New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….

Original story (published on May 4, 2023) follows:

Ever since Twitter’s acquisition by Elon Musk, the platform has gone through a ton of changes. Tweaks have been made to the things that people see on the platform and the ways in which they interact with it.

Recently, certain privileges have been changed for verified account users as well.

Bot like tweets and replies from blue verified Twitter accounts

According to reports (1,2,3,4,5,6,7), multiple Twitter users are getting annoyed because of bot-like tweets and replies from verified Blue accounts.

Elon Musk has recently prioritized verified accounts, which means tweets or replies from such users will be displayed at the top in one’s comment box.

However, it looks like this recent change has not been well received by some users of the platform. They claim that the major portion of tweets are now filled with verified accounts with bot or spam-like responses.

Some users also feel that such prioritization will not help express the real facts and the information conveyed can be opinionated.

It is of my own personal belief, that Elon Musk’s biggest failure, and the largest threat to conservatism, is giving Twitter Blue subscribers a boost in the algorithm.

Under every Elon Musk tweet, there seem to be a major portion of tweets that are bots and verified. This is more of an opinion than a fact.

Potential workaround

Luckily, we did come across a workaround that might help solve your problem. It has been recommended that you install the uBlock Origin add-on on your web browser and create filters as mentioned below.

This will help you browse through the comments section without having to view unnecessary comments from Blue subscribers.

Having said that, we’ll keep tabs on the issue where bot-like tweets and replies from verified Twitter accounts are all of Twitter and let you know if and when Musk has a solution.

Update 1 (June 19, 2023)

06:53 pm (IST): Twitter is reportedly taking action on those accounts that are exploiting the Verification and Business gold-check programmes.
