Codemasters recently released the V1.08 patch for F1 23, which addressed various issues and introduced improvements. For instance, the patch adds F1 Replay Event Type in F1 World and AI drivers to League Racing in the game.
Along with this, the recent update also fixes the glitches where unrealistic lap times could be set in Time Trial after an Instant replay, and Qualifying Practice programs were much harder than other programs in Career.
The latest patch also addresses the bugs where the pit lane speed limit in Jeddah was incorrect and some session start times were incorrect in Bahrain and Jeddah.
However, players are disappointed, as despite the update, they are experiencing issues.
F1 23 ‘low FPS when driving through smoke’
According to reports (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10), multiple F1 23 players are facing an issue where they get low FPS when driving through smoke clouds.
As per the calims, the smoke released by other racers’ cars forms a cloud on the player’s screen, obstructing their vision. The problem is especially prominent on the corners, making it very difficult for them to avoid crashes.
Gamers have remarked that flashbacks run at an unplayable 2 frames per second (FPS) and that excessive white smoke during rainy weather sessions obstructs their visibility.
They have also complained about throttle input problems, where the commands register while only exerting half the pressure on the keys, causing aggravation and discomfort.
And without a doubt, such issues tone down the realistic effects of an F1 race and impact one’s gameplay experience in a negative manner.

F1 23 pixelated texture effect on Halo
Some F1 23 players (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9) have also observed pixelated and jagged texture effects on the Halo device.
They complain that the issue affects the game’s visual quality during night and wet races, regardless of the car or track being used.
And it is without a doubt quite disappointing that gamers are experiencing such a problem at 4K resolution.

Fortunately, Codemasters has officially acknowledged both issues and is currently working on fixing them. However, no ETA for the bug fix has been provided.
Potential workaround (Pixelated or jagged texture issue)
Meanwhile, you can try disabling the ‘volumetric fog’ from the in-game settings for a potential fix. It is also recommended that you tweak other graphics settings, such as Lighting, according to the performance of your system.
