[Updated] EDD (Employment Development Department) website down or not working? You're not alone

EDD (Employment Development Department) is a platform designed to help and assist California workers in claiming their rights. It also offers employment service programs, among other things.

That said, currently the EDD website and platform is down or not working, preventing users from accessing it or receiving their payments on time.

According to reports, the website has been unavailable for hours. The outage is still present at the time of writing this story.

@CA_EDD I don’t care what you guys do but you guys need to make this right there a lot of people who need to get on the website and certify for benefits. This is total BS get it together.

@CA_EDD I am having the same issue too. After verifying my email then it loads and never progresses from that. Unacceptable!

According to a user, trying to sign in through Google Chrome could help:

It’s noteworthy that EDD issued an official word about the situation, saying that everything is due to a ‘higher volume than usual logging in to myEDD’. However, more than 6 hours have passed since then.

The outage is not only affecting access to the EDD platform, but is even causing payment delays. So, many users are frustrated that there isn’t even an ETA for a fix yet.

Yeah people calling cause you guys done f up the system …still got people who have shit for brains running the edd..people get fed up with this …I just got a 200 dollar late payment cause of this ..am mad as hell

Hopefully the issue gets a fix soon so that users can access the platform again and receive their pending payments.
