[Updated] EA SPORTS FC 24 players cannot find 'Drop in' matches on Pro Clubs (workarounds inside)

EAFC 24 players are reporting that the ‘Drop-in’ matches are not working, as they are unable to locate online games to join.

Players have turned to social media to share their experiences with the issue, hoping to find a potential solution.

Pro clubs drop in matches on the new EAFC 24 are terrible, connection issues constantly and one game I went in controlling an AI and my pro was being controlled by the AI… sort it out EA (Source)

I have tried dozen of times and tried resetting my game, it gathers my team then says match found and then seconds after it says no opponents found. (Currently playing on PC) (Source)

Recently, the football simulator EA Sports FC 24 reportedly encountered issues with one of its online modes, ‘Drop-in,’ making it nearly ‘unplayable.’

Drop-in matches are a quick-play mode in FIFA Pro Clubs, creating an online game session with 10 users (5 vs. 5) who randomly join the match session.

According to reports (1, 2, 3, 4, 5), players are experiencing multiple connection issues and errors in the ‘drop-in matches.’

Additionally, many players report being unable to find any online matches to join. Even when they do find a match, they encounter an error that prevents them from starting the match.

The error says that the ‘opponent player’ has left the game.

This issue is not new, as Drop-in matches have reportedly had this problem since the beta.

Has anyone managed to play this mode yet? It was my favorite on the PS but after making my pro and trying to find a game, it won’t find one. Been trying for almost a full day. (Source)

Unfortunately, even after the full release, the issue has not been resolved. However, some player-made workarounds for this issue exist.

As reports continue to accumulate, some players have suggested potential workarounds that may provide a temporary solution to the issue.

Among these solutions, the simplest is to turn off crossplay or join a random club and search for drop-in matches.

Join a random club, i couldn’t play 1 game since 22, today i joined a random club and since then i get matches in drop in (Source)

Additionally, one player suggested that tweaking appearance settings could be a solution:

– Go into edit VP appearance and reset any ‘morphs’ you have.

– Ideally, don’t customize your appearance at all and use one of the preset faces available.

– You can change hair and beard style, nothing else.

– If your VP overall (OVR) isn’t correct, confirm your build preset once in the lobby, and it will correct it.

– If you are matched with people who have a ton of customizations, the search might still fail, but it will work far more often

So far, there have been no official statements regarding this issue.

We will monitor the situation and provide updates if there are any further developments on the matter.

5:17 pm (IST): According to reports (1,2,3), it appears that players are still experiencing this issue. Sadly, there’s no official word on this matter. And some gamers have gotten so disappointed that they have started claiming refunds.

10:09 am (IST): Fortunately, the issue with the Drop-In matches has been acknowledged and is already under investigation. Hopefully, it will get fixed soon.

01:12 pm (IST): The issue is still present as the reports still keeps coming in, but another fix has been revealed by a user. It is advised to ‘disable approximation matchmaking under multi-player settings’, though another player claims that this only works once.

– What’s worked for me is turning off approximate matchmaking in multi-player settings! Give that a go!

– It worked for me one time. The game went to extra time and then the game glitched when it ended and I didn’t get any exp. Yikes.

08:37 am (IST): Players are experiencing a problem with ‘Play in Drop-In Match,’ where they receive the error ‘Problem Creating the Clubs Drop-In Lobby’. For some, it generates an unexpected error or an unable to create lobby problem.
