The removal of the traditional ‘match intro cutscene’, which showcased player lineups, has left EA SPORTS FC 24 players divided and discontented.
For years, EA games have been celebrated for their attention to detail and realism. Part of this realism has been pre-match intro cutscenes, which added an authentic touch to the gaming experience.
These cutscenes allowed players to witness their favorite teams and players walk out onto the pitch, while also showcasing the starting line-ups and, in the case of certain competitions, the playing of national anthems.
EA SPORTS FC 24 ‘match intro cutscene’ not showing player lineup
However, these pre-match intro cutscenes have now been replaced by ‘Dynamic Match Intros’. These intros are designed to start matches as quickly as possible, bypassing the traditional build-up (1,2,3,4,5).
The new dynamic intro looks cool but it ruins immersion. I don’t really care how fast we get into the game, we literally not gonna hear UEL UCL Anthem anymore, no more starting lineup animations. I really hate it…

It was a massive part of the game, as I only played Career Mode, now what’s the fun of going with team from League Two to Champions League final if I can’t even see them walking out, wtf

While this approach may make sense for online matches, where players often seek fast-paced action. It has caused a considerable backlash among those who primarily play offline modes, including Career Mode and Kick-Off.
The community has been quick to voice their discontent with this change. Many players argue that the removal of pre-match intros diminishes the overall gaming experience.
It’s worth noting that the match intro function is still there in the settings. However, it just lets you select whether the team lineup is displayed as scrolling text when you skip the intro or not.
The funny thing is, that the function is still there in the settings “Lineup as scrolling text” describes “Select whether the team lineup is displayed as scrolling text when you skip the intro.” What for Intros?, this is It’s really demotivating to play the game, that’s been part of it for years.

Nonetheless, the absence of player lineups and anthems has taken away the immersion and authenticity that fans have come to expect from the FIFA franchise.
Players speak out
The backlash against EA’s decision to eliminate pre-match intros has been loud and clear on social media. Many are calling for a return to the previous format, arguing that it added depth and excitement to the game.
What is particularly frustrating is that this change not only affects online play but also offline modes.
In Career Mode, where players take on the role of a manager and guide their team to glory, the omission of pre-match intros is a glaring issue. The absence of lineups and anthems detracts from the realism of managing a team.
This is really ridiculous, I can’t feel like a football player in career mode, I can’t experience that atmosphere, they have to bring it back with an update, otherwise I will cut off my relationship with EA.

As the franchise continues to evolve, it is crucial for EA to maintain a balance between innovation and preserving the elements that have made the series so beloved over the years.
We hope that the developers pay heed to the outcry from players and restore this change.
That said, we’ll keep tabs on the latest developments and update this article accordingly.
