Discord is a popular communication platform that has been widely adopted by gamers and non-gamers alike. One of the features that made it stand out is the ability to stay in a private call indefinitely without being kicked out.

However, this feature was only available on mobile, and users on PC had a limit of 5 minutes before being automatically disconnected from the call.

Discord users want toggle to disable ‘call disconnects after 3 minutes’ function

Recently, Discord made some changes to the mobile app, introducing a 3-minute limit for private calls.

This has caused frustration among users who have been using the platform for a long time. Many of them were not happy with the change and felt that there was no need for it (1,2,3,4,5,6,7).

The indefinite calling feature was highly appreciated because it allowed Discord users to jump in and out of a call anytime without having to call the other person every day, which was convenient for those who talk regularly.

Another reason why users are upset is the lack of information regarding the changes. There were no changelogs, announcements, or even tweets explaining the reasons behind the update.

This lack of communication has left many users feeling frustrated and confused.

Those who enjoyed the indefinite calling feature on mobile are now forced to call every time they want to talk, which can be frustrating, especially for those who have poor connectivity issues.

Btw I’m glad I don’t pay for nitro because discord adding that “you’re alone for 3 minutes in call so get disconnected” is annoying and bad

Why did y’all make it so that private calls automatically disconnect after 3 minutes of inactivity?? That’s stupid

Additionally, users who have been in a call for months or even years suddenly find their calls ending due to this new function.
