Discord users unable to reply to messages with images, videos, or GIFs on Android app, issue acknowledged

Discord makes it easy for one to communicate and hang out with friends and users from different communities in an enjoyable manner.

However, it looks like that a recent issue is ruining the fun for many.

Multiple Discord users (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10) are facing an issue where they are unable to reply to messages with images, videos, or GIFs.

Whenever one tries to do so, the media attachment gets sent as a standalone or new message instead of a reply.

This makes it difficult for the users to figure out which message was sent in which regard. But fortunately, when responding to a text message, the message appears as it should.

The issue has been persistent for the past few days and mostly affects Android users. However, there are similar reports from some iOS users as well.

The bug has even made some speculate that they might have accidentally changed an app setting.

Those affected have tried tinkering with various settings and uninstalling and reinstalling the app on their smartphones but without success.

Fortunately, the Discord support team has officially acknowledged this issue and is currently working on a fix. Although, no official ETA for the bug fix has been given.

Also, we didn’t come across any potential workaround that might help solve your problem. So it looks like you might have to wait for a while before you can use the feature normally.
