Spotify is one of the most used music streaming services around the world. Its popularity grew thanks to offering millions of songs and albums from many artists in one place.

Spotify is available both through a web client and through dedicated apps (for mobile devices, consoles and Smart TVs).

The service even supports linking with compatible products (such as smart speakers) and external apps (such as Discord), expanding the possibilities of use.

Syncing between Discord and Spotify lets your contacts know what you’re currently listening to on Spotify, and even start listening together.

However, currently the Discord Spotify status is not working or displaying for many.

Many Discord users are unable to access their Spotify status as the data is not displaying on their profiles.

spotify status randomly stopped working?

i just booted up my computer and noticed spotify wasnt under my profile as the status. i tried restarting discord and spotify, logging in and etc, connecting and reconnecting, etc, but whenever i do that it works for the first song then immediately stops working after the next song plays.

not really sure what else to try, would appreciate some help

The issue started off affecting the PC version, but later spread to the Discord mobile app as well.

Spoitify Discord Activity No Longer Shows

Hey everyone. my issue is that my Discord Spotify activity on my laptop isn’t showing up anymore, but has been showing up on my phone mostly just fine [now it’s not showing up].

Also, no workaround or troubleshooting seems to have helped affected users, so you should save your time as this seems to be a server-side issue.

I’m not sure what the issue is because none of the articles I’ve checked out have helped my particular issue [reconnecting Spotify to discord, etc]. I’ve even closed the apps several times to try and fix it [even on mobile] and I cannot seem to figure out the issue.

There is still no official acknowledgment of the issue from the Discord or Spotify team. We will update this story as events unfold.

10:09 am (IST): Discord has acknowledged the issue where Spotify statuses are broken and they are currently investigating it. However, there’s no ETA for the fix.

12:57 pm (IST): According to some of those affected (1, 2), the issue with Spotify status not working has now been resolved.

11:22 am (IST): Once again Discord users(1,2,3,4,5) are having issues with Spotify Status as it’s doesn’t show the current song being played on PC.

04:42 pm (IST): Due to lack of reports, this issue seems to be resolved.

04:29 pm (IST): Some users are again reporting (1, 2, 3, 4, 5) that Spotify status is not working for them on Discord. However, there’s potential workaround to fix this bug.

Yes happened to me as well. Easy fix: Either connect it using PC, or use desktop website on any browser(preferably opera) and connect it. (Source)

Moreover, if the above-mentioned trick didn’t fix the problem, users can also try another solution mentioned below.

My Spotify was connected to my Discord but every 30 seconds it would pause, so I removed Spotify from Discord, reconnected it, closed Discord AND Spotify, waited a bit, then reopened them. Now it works fine. (Source)
