Discord is one of the most favorite tools among gamers. It is an instant messaging service full of possibilities.

Discord is widely used to replace the native voice-chat systems on many games or even to add one in games that do not have it.

Xbox players have been testing the integration between Discord and their consoles during the beta stage. Discord on the console allows you to take advantage of the voice chat system.

And after several weeks of testing, Discord integration is finally available for all Xbox Series X and S users. But it seems that the implementation is causing some confusion among many players.

Discord integration on Xbox confusing for many players

According to multiple reports, Discord integration on Microsoft Xbox consoles can be confusing or unintuitive. In fact, many gamers couldn’t figure out how to enable Discord voice chat on their Xbox units at first.

Discord integration and why it’s this way? So after messing around with discord on the xbox with my cousin, me being the one on PC and him on xbox; why did they decide to do it this way?

Wouldn’t it have been better to just give xbox the discord app on their device, and give them all features such as screen sharing, server selection, etc on the xbox itself?

Xbox discord vc not working

I tried the first time joining a call from my phone. I had to accept all the things and then it opened the xbox app. Here the problem starts: the app kept loading. So i tried disconnecting the account and deleting and reinstalling the xbox app, and it didn’t work, same issue.

One of the things that many Xbox gamers thought was that Discord would be available as an app for the console, but this is not the case.

Here’s all you need to know

The integration between both platforms requires using the Discord app on a smartphone (or the desktop client). The first necessary step is to link your Xbox account with Discord by following these steps:

Open Discord app on your mobile, go to settings > connections > Xbox, link your account. Go to the channel you want on your phone & press the bar at the bottom – select “transfer to Xbox”. It’ll open the Xbox mobile app, confirm it & it’ll transfer to console.

The Discord integration on Xbox involves transferring a call on a specific channel from Discord to the console.

That is, after successfully linking your accounts, you should start a voice call from the Discord mobile app or desktop client (on the desired channel).

Next, you need to press the ‘Transfer’ button for the voice call to run on your Xbox console. From here on, the device where you have the Discord app installed will be the voice source, not the console peripherals.

In short, while the initial process may be unintuitive, the steps become easy once you get the hang of them.

Do leave us a comment on your experience with the integration between the two platforms.
