Discord recently released an app update for both desktop and mobile platforms allowing users to communicate with voice messages on servers with less than 200 members.

Along with this, the file upload size limit has been increased from 8MB to 25MB, allowing users to share larger GIFs or documents.

New perks for Nitro users such as extra themes and the ability to react with Super Reactions and community-curated sounds have been introduced as well.

However, it appears that users are facing some troubles after installing the latest update. ‌

Discord channels missing or disappearing

According to reports (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10), multiple Discord users are experiencing an issue where some or all of the channels are missing or disappearing from the server list.

Notably, some are witnessing this issue in the servers they own as well. Due to this, users are experiencing difficulties in communicating with their friends in different groups.

It’s noteworthy that one is only able to interact with or view only those who have been active in voice calls recently. And to add to their troubles, users are also unable to join new Channels on the platform as well.

To one’s surprise, they receive a ‘No Texts Channel’ error on visiting most of the servers that they belong to. However, users are unable to find clues about the same in the audit log.

For some, closing and reopening the app does the trick, however, others have not been so lucky in this regard. This has even made some speculate that things might not be right at Discord’s server end.

As per the reports, the issue affects Android and iOS users and has been persistent for a day or two.

Most of the servers i’m in randomly had all their channels wiped. This cant be some sort of hacking of a bot because this happened on my own server without a single bot too. Audit logs say nothing. Any ideas what the hell could have happened here???

After I updated a few days ago, any time I click a notification or re-open the app after its been open for a while, it will only load messages from one channel

Some have tried common troubleshooting steps like logging out from the account and signing back in and restarting their smartphone but to no effect.

Official acknowledgment

The Discord support team is aware of this issue and is currently working on fixing the bug. But, unfortunately, no official ETA for the bug fix has been provided for now.

You can try workarounds like clearing the app cache or uninstalling and reinstalling the app in order to get rid of the problem.
