Lately, there’s been a lot of talk on X (formerly Twitter) about a potential change to the like button. Users are reporting that the heart icon has been replaced by an X.

But before you get worried or excited, you should know that X hasn’t actually changed the like button to an X.

While the heart-shaped like button remains intact for regular user interactions, X has introduced an interesting feature specifically for businesses.

X has rolled out an X-themed Branded Like and Hashmoji under Branded Features that allows businesses to engage with their audience in a unique way.

However, some people think that X has changed the like button and replaced the heart icon with an X.

Instead of the usual heart animation, an X animation appears. This adds a touch of creativity and branding to the like experience without completely replacing the heart icon.

This feature is called Branded Likes. It allows businesses to transform Twitter’s Like button into a custom animation.

When a brand enables this feature on their account and users click the like button when they post something, a custom logo will appear instead of the heart animation.

It’s important to note that this change is limited to branded posts. If users like a usual post on X, it will still show the familiar heart icon.

So, if you’ve come across tweets or posts with the X animation when you hit the like button, rest assured that X hasn’t permanently swapped out the heart animation.

That said, we will make sure to update this article accordingly.
