Diablo II: Resurrected 'Failed to enter game. Character already in a game' error gets acknowledged, but no ETA for fix

Diablo II: Resurrected is the remastered version of Blizzard Entertainment’s iconic action-RPG. This version includes all the content and expansions of the original game along with graphic and performance improvements.

Diablo II: Resurrected challenges you to complete an epic 5-act campaign across a massive world filled with characters, stories, species, races, weapons, spells, and more.

However, some Diablo II: Resurrected players are currently facing an issue that prevents them from accessing the game’s servers (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14).

More specifically, there is a ‘Failed to enter game. Character already in a game’ error that some Diablo II: Resurrected players are getting, even if they have been offline for hours (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12).

According to multiple reports, the issue is affecting some players even hours after they have logged out of the game.

Also, in many cases the disconnection was not on purpose, but rather sudden due to a problem in the Diablo II: Resurrected servers.

After that, the game system keeps thinking that the player character is still online.

XBOX D2R – Failed to join game

Hi. I suddenly got a server disconnect while playing (internet did not go down, server side issue I assume), and now even a hour after I can’t join games with any characters. I get the “failed to join – character still in game” when trying to join (applies to all characters).

I’ve restarted the xbox multiple times, as well as forced the game to quit a few times but to no avail.

Anyone experienced this? Is there a known fix?

Account stuck in game

Hello guys, I was disconnected from a game in EU server and now my account is stuck in a game. Can not join or make another one as it says “Failed to enter game. THis character is laready in a game on the server. Please try again. ”

I tryed to restart application even pc, without effect.

Blizzard team is aware of the bug some players are facing and is working on a fix. However, there is no ETA for a fix yet.
