Diablo 4, for sure, immerses players in a darker and grittier world thanks to the horror elements used in the game to enhance the visual experience.

Compared to previous versions, the latest iteration has a much more mature storytelling approach and delivers a compelling story that resonates with gamers. However, some are disappointed.

Diablo 4 ‘treasure goblins’ loot insufficient for players

According to reports (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8), some Diablo 4 players are facing an issue where the ‘treasure goblins’ loot is disappointing or insufficient.

Treasure goblins are non-hostile, mischievous creatures that hoard gold and other valuables. They also drop a trail of gold as they run, allowing gamers to easily track and find them.

One is rewarded with a random assortment of items, including gold, gems, and equipment, for killing a goblin. In some situations, these creatures can also drop cosmetics like mounts or mount-related cosmetics.

However, gamers claim that the loot dropped by treasure goblins is no longer as rare or valuable as it was in previous games.

This discrepancy between the expected rewards and the actual loot obtained by killing the goblins has left them disappointed. One of those affected asserts not to have received anything unique, even after killing a hundred goblins.

Another player claims to be getting more legendary drops from ordinary enemies compared to treasure goblins. They add that of the total 70 hours of playtime, they have only killed five goblins that carried rare items.

They seem to have the best loot per kill of anything except world bosses. Maybe high NM dungeons are better, but I’m only in the 30s at the moment.

After killing like 40 of them we struggle to even bother at this point. Some gold and a few yellows. Why bother?

And as a result, players feel that the effort and time spent hunting down these goblins is not worthwhile.

No official response

Unfortunately, Blizzard Team 3 has not officially responded to the matter. But we are hopeful that they will address gamers’ concerns soon.

Until then, we will keep tabs on what Diablo 4 devs think about the matter with insufficient ‘treasure goblins’ loot and update the article accordingly.
