Diablo 4, the highly anticipated entry in the renowned action role-playing game franchise, introduced a new item system that revolutionized the way players pursue loot.

Now, Blizzard has gone one step further and the level requirements for Sacred and Ancestral items has been changed based on the players feedback.

This change is significant, as it adds a fresh dynamic to the game’s endgame experience, emphasizing the importance of acquiring powerful gear to enhance character builds.

Diablo 4 Season 1 level requirement allegedly capped at 60 for Sacred & 80 for Ancestral items

Sacred and Ancestral items represent vastly superior versions of the common gear pieces obtained during the journey from levels 1 to 50.

These item tiers can only be found on higher tiers, with Sacred items starting to drop on World Tier 3 and Ancestral gear becoming available on World Tier 4.

Allegedly level requirement is now capped at 60 for Sacred and 80 for Ancestral items in Diablo 4 Season 1.

This change addresses a longstanding request from the player community, who have been asking for a reevaluation of the level requirements for high-tier items for quite some time.

The new level requirements not only provide a sense of balance to the game’s progression but also contribute to the overall satisfaction of players.

Players feel this will have a significant impact on item trading within the game. Previously, if a player found a powerful item with a high gear score, such as a 790, at level 95, it would have a level requirement of 95.

This meant that it could only be used by characters at or above that level. However, with the new level requirements, that same item would now have a level requirement of 80.

This change has effectively broadened the pool of potential users for such items.

Positive change for sure, although agreed the scaling level cap up to 100 was plain silly to begin with, we take what we can get. I feel 80 is still a tad high but overall quite happy they’ve acknowledged the feedback and done something.

This is the #1 thing I’ve wanted since the 2nd day the game came out. Such a great change but I still cannot believe they didn’t think it was an issue until people complained about it.

However, some players express concerns about the potential increase in stash space issues.

Previously, there was little incentive to keep items above level 80 unless they were considered absolute god-tier items, as there was a good chance of finding better gear.

With the introduction of this change, any item above level 80 could potentially be worth keeping, placing additional strain on stash space.

So, we are hopeful that the devs will work hard to iron out these concerns as well. That said, stay tuned for the latest updates on this topic.
