Diablo 4 Players on PlayStation 5 are reporting that they received an email claiming the ‘Diablo III Inarius Wings & Inarius Murloc Pet – Diablo IV’ add-on has been added to their accounts for free.

Confusion arises as the players question why this add-on was given to them when they didn’t make the purchase. Some are even marking it as a potential scam.

Not sure if this post is allowed, but I play on PS5 and I got a confirmation email for a purchase of a free add on “Diablo III Inarius Wings & Inarius Murloc Pet – Diablo IV (Add-on)” did anyone else get this or should I be worried? (Source)

I play diablo 4 on ps5, and today got an email confirming a purchase of “Diablo® III Inarius Wings & Inarius Murloc Pet – Diablo® IV (Add-on)” despite not buying anything. The cost was 0.00, but why not give me this in a patch if it’s free? Even though it didn’t cost anything, it bothers me that a purchase was made on my behalf with asking me. This happen to anyone else? (Source)

Many questions arose from the surprise giveaway. Some argued: if it’s free, why not distribute it as a patch instead?

Initially, they offered ‘Diablo III Inarius Wings & Inarius Murloc Pet – Diablo IV’ as a bonus for pre-ordering Diablo 4.

This led to speculation that Blizzard might be granting the bonus to those who initially missed out.

Another possibility is that email confirmations were delayed, resulting in players who already have the bonus finding their receipts now.

Is the Diablo 4 free add-on for PlayStation 5 users a scam?

While there are a lot of speculations that claim that the whole giveaway could be a potential scam, the receipt attached to the email gives some confirmation that this giveaway could be legit.

Did you recently purchase D3/4? Because this is the D3 bonus from purchasing D4, and all this receipt is is confirmation from the Sony system that it was added to your account. Strange if it sent randomly, or Blizzard might have just changed/done something to grant it to some folks who didn’t get the bonus for some reason, but there’s absolutely nothing sketchy/unusual about this. Nonetheless, there hasn’t been any official confirmation from Blizzard about this matter yet.

We’ll keep track of the situation and post an update if and when there are any further developments on the matter.
