Destiny 2 arrived in 2017 as the direct sequel to Bungie’s new FPS MMO game saga. Since its release, the game has been receiving constant support with new content.

The beginnings of Destiny 2 were rocky, reaching the point where the developers decided to make it a free-to-play game. However, its health improved a lot after that and today it enjoys a strong community.

However, currently many Destiny 2 players are facing an issue where the Special weapon indicator light or glint is missing.

Destiny 2 Special weapon indicator light or glint missing

In Destiny 2 there is a different colored light or glint for every special weapon. This helps to quickly identify them during matches at a glance once you memorize which weapon each light corresponds to.

Yea, there is a different colored light for every special. Red = Sniper, White = Shotgun, Blue = Fusion, and Yellow = Grenade launchers. I may have some of them switched around. I’m trying to list them from memory and it’s been around since D2 launch so my brain just processes the information and doesn’t even really think about it anymore.

This is one of those features that players assimilate naturally through the games and use it to their advantage.

That said, multiple reports indicate that the Destiny 2 Special weapon indicator light or glint is sometimes missing, with no apparent explanation.

Is sniper glint gone now in PvP or am i going crazy?

There is no more sniper glint or any “light” that indicates someone has a heavy weapon equipped. Is this a recent change or am i just now noticing it???? Is it a void 3.0 thing im too much of a dumbass to figure out???

Official acknowledgment and potential workaround for Xbox consoles

The Bungie team officially acknowledged the issue recently and is investigating. However, there is no ETA on a fix for it yet.

Meanwhile, there is a potential workaround that reportedly helps resolve the glitch whenever it occurs:

This happens on Series X sometimes too. On series X, to fix it, clear out the system cache. Go to settings, devices, Blu-ray, clear persistent storage. That fixes it every time for me. Try it on Xbox One.

Although the workaround refers to Xbox consoles, you can try it on any platform that allows you to clear the system cache.
