In the last few days, Destiny 2 has been making headlines for all sorts of reasons. Developed and published by Bungie in 2017, the developers have added expansion packs every year with the latest one being The Witch Queen.

However, in the last few weeks, players have been complaining about bugs such as the game crashing when entering the tower to get items and gear from Banshee-44 and the Grasp of Avarice Dungeon’s final boss getting stuck.

Unable to buy Solar 3.0 fragments

Adding to the trouble, Destiny 2 players are now saying that they are unable to buy Ember of Ashes and Ember of Wonders Solar 3.0 fragments for their character (1,2,3,4,5). The issue seems to be upsetting many players.

Unable to access solar 3.0 fragments. I can’t equip any of the solar 3.0 fragments which are supposed to be unlocked by default, such as ember of ashes and ember of wonder. This is on a new light character (deleted and remade titan last season), but I completed the entire new light quest chain (except the introductory vanguard, crucible & gambit quests) way before this season dropped. I can still buy the fragments that Ikora sells, but that still leaves tons of fragments completely unavailable.

Despite having them and being able to use them on my Titan and my Warlock, the Ember of Ashes and the Ember of Wonder are unobtainable on my Hunter. Everything that can be purchased from Ikora has been acquired, there are no extra quests on the Quest Archive or on any other vendor. Ashes and Wonder seem to be default fragments that you start with as they are not in Ikora’s inventory and I didn’t have to do anything for them to be on my other characters, so why are they missing on my Hunter?

Unfortunately, Bungie is yet to officially comment on the issue where some Destiny 2 players are unable to buy Solar 3.0 fragments.

Ember of Benevolence disabled

And as if this wasn’t infuriating enough, it looks like the Ember of Benevolence is not applying correctly in some situations and was not refreshing the buff on itself.

Yeah I was wondering about that. My rifts don’t proc Benevolence even though they did before 3.0. So where I used to be able to support my team with rifts with fantastic uptime in endgame content, now I barely have a rift when we need one.

@BungieHelp hey boots of the assembler aren’t activating ember of benevolence this feels like a massive oversight or a bug because lumina is activating it could you look into it

Thankfully, Bungie was quick to acknowledge the issue and said they will be disabling the Ember of Benevolence until it is fixed. They also said that the issue will be resolved by June 7.

Due to a performance issue with the “Ember of Benevolence” Fragment not working as intended with other sources, it has been disabled for use until a fix can be deployed at a later date. The current ETA is June 7.

We hope Destiny 2 developers soon take a look at the issue where some players are unable to buy the Ember of Ashes and Ember of Wonders Solar 3.0 fragments.

As always, we will be updating this space when the aforementioned issues are fixed so stay tuned.
