Destiny 2 players have recently started facing an issue where they are unable to switch loadouts because they have been locked or disabled.

Loadouts are a great way to quickly switch between different builds, optimize your gameplay, and save time.

However, by looking at the reports (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10) it seems that gamers are experiencing difficulties in applying or switching to a loadout.

As per the claims, the tab is now completely locked, and they are unable to view their previously saved loadouts.

Players assert that they get a ‘Progress Guardian Ranks to Unlock Loadout‘ message while trying to do so. And surprisingly, this is happening even when they are already at a higher rank than required.

Some gamers allege that the loadout spaces for all their characters got locked after logging in to the game. While others are unhappy to be facing such a problem just a few hours before the launch of the next season.

They are worried that they might have to play the raid race without loadout access if the glitch doesn’t get fixed on time.

One of those impacted says that they are unable to access a Titan loadout that they created last week. They are allegedly prompted to progress through the Guardian ranks, even when they are on the 7th rank.

@BungieHelp are Destiny loadouts disabled or something? Made a Titan loadout just last week but now I can’t access loadouts. Says I need to progress Guardian ranks but I’m rank 7 and thought that was high enough.

Another complains that they now have access to only 4 loadout slots and that the other 6 appear to be disabled.

All of my loadouts are gone in game and on dim, and i cant even open up the little tab for the loadouts on the character screen, any fix?

It appears that the loadouts have been disabled in order to address a crashing issue. According to a Twitter user, the game earlier kept crashing whenever one swapped two items in the loadout tab.

In addition to this, all the players present in the lobby would be removed as well.

Official acknowledgment

Fortunately, Bungie has officially responded to the matter and stated that they have temporarily disabled the loadout function. Due to this, the in-game loadouts will appear to be locked behind Guardian Ranks.

The company says that any existing loadouts will be saved and available once the fix has been deployed.

Update 1 (August 24, 2023)

05:30 pm (IST): Players are impatiently waiting (1, 2, 3) for the return of loadouts. However, it still does not have a date.

Moreover, some gamers think (1, 2) that the Arc Warlock build is making the game more fun and the wait for the loadouts more bearable.

Update 2 (August 25, 2023)

05:15 pm (IST): Bungie Help has announced that a temporary fix for the loadout issue is being tested and is expected to be released next week.

A permanent fix is also being worked on and is scheduled to be released in a future update.
