Destiny 2: game breaking crash issues during Warlord's Ruin dungeon

The newly added dungeon, Warlord’s Ruin Dungeon, has reportedly been causing crash issues in Destiny 2. According to the players, when they attempt to return to the orbit from the Ruin dungeon, the game crashes. The issue has been acknowledged by the developers, and until they issue a fix, below we share some workarounds.

The Warlord’s Ruin is a new dungeon in Destiny 2 that allows players to explore a Dark Age castle hosting a reanimated Ahamkara.

The dungeon features a suite of Dark Age, Iron Lord-themed survivalist gear and has players climbing a literal mountain to pursue the bones of a long-dead Ahamkara wish dragon.

The dungeon is not overly long or difficult and does not have a weirdly overpowered final boss, making it accessible even for relatively inexperienced Guardians. The main mechanic of the dungeon is the management of the Imminent Wish status and the Scorn mini-boss’s Ether totems.

Players need to capture Ether totems to move the encounters forward when they get the Imminent Wish buff. The dungeon consists of three disparate encounters and a single big puzzle piece.

However, players have reported experiencing crashes when returning to Orbit from the Warlord’s Ruin dungeon, especially when attempting Solo Flawless. Players have been reporting their experiences on various social media.

The issue has been acknowledged by the devs at Bungie. According to their statement on social media, their team has been investigating the issue. They haven’t announced any official ETA so far, but a new patch or update will be issued soon.

Till then, players can use this workaround shared by a player. According to them, currently, the only way to fix the issue is to restart the game and start it in the dungeon.
