Death Stranding server outage, unable to login or error 51003 acknowledged by 505 Games

Death Stranding is one of the most unique AAA games available on consoles and PC. Its gameplay is based on traveling long paths looking for the most efficient ways to deliver packages while facing multiple hazards.

The game also has a multiplayer facet where you can cooperate with other players through interactions. However, it appears that its online features are currently unavailable or not working.

Apparently, Death Stranding servers are in the midst of a server outage, so players are unable to login to multiplayer mode or getting an ‘error 51003’ message.

According to multiple reports, there is a lot of instability on the Death Stranding servers. This prevents players from accessing the multiplayer features of the game.

Hey there! Is there any official pronunciation from Kojima Productions about the current state of the servers? I’m pretty much addicted to the game and the lack of an online experience is… well, the game is essentially incomplete.

It’s worth pointing out that the problem is reportedly only affecting the standard version of the game. There is a ‘Death Stranding Director’s Cut’ whose servers are not experiencing issues.

Also, the game is perfectly playable in offline mode, but you will miss the interactions with other players and other online features.

It seems that the cause of the problem is an overload on the game servers, as reported by some players.

The influx of players on Epic Games is causing some server issues.

Not a bug, no tech help needed/possible, the servers are just overloaded from the influx of players. This will be fixed as servers are brought online and the initial rush peters out.

New to the game and had so much fun, currently online mode isn’t available probably because of overloaded servers but the game is already a 10/10 for me.

The 505 Games team is already aware of the situation and working on a fix. However, there is still no ETA for the fix.
