New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….

Original story (published on December 28, 2022) follows:

Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 are free-to-play battle royale games from Infinity Ward. In the Call of Duty universe, players arm themselves, plunder for prizes, and fight their way to the top.

However, it is not always a smooth sail for these games as they are frequented by various bugs and issues. For instance, we recently highlighted a random recoil issue.

We also witnessed a bug that was keeping a number of players from easily connecting to the games.

Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2 ‘low FPS or frame drops’ issue

Some COD: Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 players (1,2,3,4,5,6) are now experiencing a lag due to extreme frame drops while playing the games.

Hey guys just got PS5 and the game doesnt feel smooth at all. Im on 4k/60Hz television and it feels like im running at 30-45 FPS. Performance mode is activated in my settings. Any fixes ?

Some people seem to get over 100 fps but for some reason i can’t even manage to get to 80 fps on 1080p, also the game feels hella stuttery? Like I’m playing at 30 fps or some shit.
Source

It seems that the stuttering or low FPS issue is troubling both PC and console users alike. Sometimes, the problem is so bad that it even fails to maintain a standard FPS and drops to 20 or 30.

This is incredibly frustrating for players as it’s almost making the games unplayable. Some are even getting stuck on a black screen the moment the games’ frames drop.

On a brighter note, one of the affected PC players was able to resolve the problem in Warzone 2 by switching the mechanical hard drive for an SSD.

Issue hasn’t been acknowledged

Update 2 (July 14, 2023)

05:29 pm (IST): In addition to the widespread complaints about subpar performance, players are also encountering various other problems such as audio loss and communication failures within menus.

The severity of these issues has prompted some individuals (1,2,3) to go as far as labeling it the most glitch-ridden update since the initial release of Warzone 2.

Update 3 (July 18, 2023)

04:55 pm (IST): As confirmed by the support team, a fix was deployed to fix the performance-related issues.

And players say that while it fixed the stuttering bug, they are still experiencing FPS dropping issue (1, 2, 3, 4). They are now getting less FPS than they used to get prior to Season 4 update.
