Update 1 (November 29th, 2023)
10:31 am (IST): The developers have officially deployed a fix for the EOD Padding Gear. Now, the gear will effectively mitigate incoming damage.
Original story follows:
COD MWIII players are reporting an issue with the Hijacked IFF Strobe; according to the reports, equipping the gear removes all the buffs from a player’s loadout. Additionally, there are glitch reports with another gear called EOD Padding.
COD MWIII Hijacked IFF Strobe removing buffs from player load-outs
Hijacked IFF Strobe is a gear in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III that makes the player undetectable by AI targeting systems and thermal optics. It saves the player from highlighting themselves in enemy Tactical Cameras or Recon Drones.
To unlock the Hijacked IFF Strobe gear in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III, players have to complete the “Hijacked IFF Strobe” Armory Unlock Challenge by completing 5 daily challenges.
However, according to the reports, whenever players equip the gear, it removes all the buffs from the players’ load-out, forcing them to run into matches with the default load-out.
Allegedly, after equipping the strobe, all the buffs are present in the player’s load-out and can be accessed in the shooting range and viewed in the gunsmith, but whenever the player tries to join a match, all the buffs and attachments get removed.
The issue has been acknowledged by the devs, and they are currently investigating it. They haven’t shared any official reason behind the dysfunction of the strobe, but many believe they may soon issue a fix for the issue.
EOD Padding Glitch acknowledged
Other than the IFF Strobe, another gear is reportedly malfunctioning. This piece of gear is named EOD Padding.
EOD Padding in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III is a gear that is intended to reduce the damage taken from enemy explosives, such as frag grenades and Semtex.
However, there have been reports from players claiming that the EOD Padding perk may not be functioning as intended. Some players have expressed frustration, stating that the perk seems to have no effect or is inconsistent in its protection against certain explosives.
This issue has also been acknowledged by the devs who have shared that they are investigating the issue and will soon provide an update and try to fix the padding not properly mitigating the explosive damage issue.
While both of these issues are acknowledged by the devs, there hasn’t been any official statement as to what is causing these issues in the first place.
