Here’s the crux of the article in video form

Activision has officially unveiled the Season 2 roadmap for both Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and its free-to-play companion game, Warzone 2.0, after a two-week delay.

The Hardcore playlist will return at the start of Season 2 and replace the Tier 1 playlist for both games on February 15 at 9:00 AM Pacific Time.

The majority of the community, however, has been left disappointed as they believe there is a glaring lack of new content.

According to reports, the content on the roadmap is far from remarkable, with players claiming that additional multiplayer stuff is required to keep the game engaging (1,2,3,4,5).

Drop Zone is another iconic mode that debuted in Modern Warfare 2 this season. So, as much as gamers enjoy it, they believe it is repackaged content rather than innovative.

The new weapons have also failed to impress since they do not appear to disrupt the meta. The common consensus is that developers are papering over the cracks instead of doing the right thing.

I honestly don’t blame you. After seeing this roadmap, I was so irritated with gaming that I straight up had no desire to play any game on any console I have. It really makes you see the shitty dark side to today’s gaming industry.

How the season 2 roadmap looks like if you trim it to the essential content and what is actually new… RIP multiplayer… Oh boy I don’t even want to know what season 3 recycles.

Want more maps

The new maps also appear to be lackluster, indicating that the developers have failed to meet gamers’ expectations (1,2,3,4,5).

Modern Warfare 2 Season 2 roadmap includes Valderas Museum, which is returning since first appearing in the Modern Warfare II Beta and Al Malik International is a remastered version of the infamous Al Mazrah map.

Expectations were high, with some anticipating 4-6 new maps but not receiving what they desired. Some players have even uninstalled the game because they believe there is nothing worthwhile to play for.

@InfinityWard what you lot doing exactly? The multiplayer is still loved you know give us more maps and classing museum as new content is a massive L from you lot

need more map multiplayer. only two is very poor. and new maps no remakes

Such a dearth of new content for a 70$ game is quite upsetting, as players feel neglected because Warzone 2.0 continues to receive entertaining new stuff, but Modern Warfare 2 is utterly ignored.

Being the costliest edition in the title’s history comes with great expectations which have yet to be delivered leaving some feeling duped (1,2,3).

We hope that the developers take note of the player feedback and implement further improvements in future updates. Having said that, we will keep you updated on the newest developments.
