Modern Warfare 2 basically took everything that the first game was exceptional at, and somehow improved upon it.

Looking at single-player mode, Modern Warfare 2 features some of the most memorable missions in the series, as well as a variety of mesmerizing locations spread around a fictional world.

However, recently, many players have been facing issues like ‘Sys_Error’ on Xbox and ‘Disc read error’, increasing demand for the ability to turn off crossplay on Xbox and PC, and many more.

COD: Modern Warfare 2 kicked for inactivity

Lately, many COD: Modern Warfare 2 players have been complaining about an issue where they are getting kicked out of matches for inactivity (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8).

Many players run a combination of a spotter (a player who marks enemies using a spotter scope) and a sniper. So this means that players take a rooftop or get to a high area and sit ideally while sniping enemies.

The problem appears to be that the game interprets it as inactive and does not take into account if players are continuously shooting, tagging, and killing enemies.

Furthermore, throughout a match, COD: Modern Warfare 2 players are timed out when roaming about, parachuting, the map is loading, and checking out settings.

So I was playing then I had to do somethings and forgot to quit the match so I got kicked for inactivity I got into a new match and I was put into loosing matches every game. All because of that. Also the game keeps crashing mid game I hope that doesn’t effect my enjoyment later down the line.

What is the point of giving us sniper rifles on large maps like the ones in Ground War if it’s going to kick you after a minute or two of sitting and taking shots. It needs to register shots instead of just movement or at least give a warning with some sort of countdown.

Meanwhile, a player made the following suggestion as to how being in the grey area may contribute to this inactivity issue:

We advise you to avoid these areas until the problem gets resolved, although the developers have not yet commented on the situation.

That said, we’ll keep an eye and post an update if and when there are any further developments regarding the matter.
