Clash of Clans Builder Base matchmaking bug causing players to win or lose large amounts of trophies acknowledged

Supercell recently released the June 2023 update for Clash of Clans which introduces new content to the game such as a new Dark Elixir Troop, ‘Apprentice Warden’, a Super Troop, ‘Super Hog Rider’, and two new Magic Items. 

The latest patch also brings new TH15 upgrade levels for Defenses, Traps, Troops, Heroes, and Hero Pets. Along with this new levels for Buildings, Spells, Siege Machines, and Pets have been introduced as well.

However, despite the update, some are experiencing problems with the game.

According to reports (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10), multiple Clash of Clans players are facing an issue where they win or lose large amounts of trophies due to a bug in the matchmaking system.

The Builder Base matchmaking system is designed to create fair and balanced matches. It is responsible for pairing players who have a similar level of progression and skill together for fair and competitive battles.

This ensures that all gamers, regardless of their Builder Hall level or Versus Trophies, have an equal opportunity to win.

However, players allege that some keep getting tons of defenses while others are not even provided with any sort of mechanism to protect themselves.

In addition to this, the trophy count for those who don’t receive defense cannot be decreased. Due to this, a section of gamers are able to accumulate a high number of trophies and reach an unrealistic trophy range.

Some also observe that their previous best trophy count gets replaced with a significantly lower value time and again.

One of those affected complains that they often encounter higher-level opponents who intentionally drop troops and surrender to gain resources.

Notably, the frequency of such encounters has increased ever since the release of BB 2.0.

Another says that their trophy count of 11,374 went down to a negative 1,337 in June.

I was looking at the rankings for June BH and clicked on the number 1 account named Cole. Dude had 11k trophies in June and now has less than 500. Anyone know what happened? Is it a glitch or did he truly drop that low?

Gamers are now requesting developers to fix this bug as soon as possible so that can enjoy playing the game as intended.

Luckily, the Clash Of Clans team is aware of the issue and is currently working on fixing it. However, no ETA has been given.
