New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….

Original story (published on March 17, 2022) follows:

Used by more than 3.2 billion people as their main browser as of 2021, Google Chrome is undoubtedly the most popular browser in the world.

With more than 62% of total browser market share as of February 2022, alternatives such as the Chromium-based Edge and Firefox are nowhere close to Chrome.

But as is the case with every other application, Chrome users are susceptible to bugs and issues like images appearing distorted and pixelated and zoom in shortcut not working on macOS.

Adding to the trouble, Chrome users are now saying (1,2,3,4,5) that they are getting a Redirect notice whenever they click on a Google Image Search result.

Users say they are getting an option to proceed to the page where the image is or go back to the search results. The glitch seems to be frustrating a lot of users, especially those whose work involves searching for images on Google.

A bunch of users say the problem is affecting Safari and Edge as well. You can see in the image below what the Redirect notice looks like for affected Chrome users who click on an image searched via Google Image search.

Every time I search somethign using Google Images, I get redirected to a new tab, called Redirect Notice. All pages are 100% safe, and this happens every single time, all the time. I am damn pissed off about this and I need this to stop happening. I have a good antivirus, which tells me if the page is harmful or not.

Since a couple of days ago, every single Google Image search I do on Chrome, when I try to follow the link, it gives me a “Redirect Notice – The page you were on is trying to send you to [link]” I didn’t change any setting in Chrome or my Google account. I cleared cache and cookies, but it still happens. It does not happen with other browsers. Chrome Version 99.0.4844.51 (64-bit) on Windows 10. A virus scan turned up nothing. Anyone else experience this? How can I fix this? It’s getting extremely annoying.
