If you are looking for a Chromium-based browser, you must have heard of Brave. The privacy-focused browser offers several features such as an in-built ad blocker and support for Chrome extensions.

Users can also opt to see optional ads that let users earn Basic Attention Tokens cryptocurrency, often known as BAT. Based out of San Francisco, California, the browser has more than 50 million users worldwide.

That said, many recently complained that they were unable to drag and reorder tabs. And now, Brave users are receiving incorrect BAT tokens for the April 2022 Ads Payout (1,2,3,4,5).

Many are seemingly frustrated and wondering why they are getting fewer tokens than they should have. Some say they thought it was a problem on their end and tried resetting the settings but it did not help.

Here are some reports from Brave users who received incorrect BAT tokens during April 2022 Ads Payout.

I earned about 6.5 BAT’s during March. On the first of April it showed that I would receive about 3.5 BAT’s payout in April and left the remaining balance in earned in April. I was ok with that, but today when I actually received the payout it was only 0.25 BAT’s. This is not ok, I am beginning to think that Brave is more trouble and frustrating than what it’s worth. Tired of every month there are problems.

Same over here, i usually receive BAT’s two times in my uphold account due to the multiple devices (laptop, phone) but this month only received one … so, one transaction either BAT from pc or from phone are missing … i assume that it’s from phone, becaue it says i’m not connected to uphold but if i try to connect, it always throws an error

It is interesting to note that this is not the first time Brave users are facing issues with BAT tokens. In April last year, many said they were unable to port BAT rewards to Uphold Wallet.

Thankfully, Brave BAT Team manager has commented on the matter and acknowledged that a bug that resulted in users getting incorrect BAT tokens. They went on to say that the team is working on a fix but did not share any timeframe on when users will receive the remaining tokens.

We are actively working to ensure that each user receives the correct amount of BAT for the April payout. If you have received less BAT than expected this month, or have not received your claim, please note that payments to verified wallets and claims for unverified wallets will continue to process through next week. Thank you for your patience as we work to complete your payments.

We hope Brave developers soon resolve the problem and reward the remaining BAT tokens to affected users as soon as possible.
