Great news for tech enthusiasts in Boston! Google is all set to open its first retail store in the city in 2024. As reported by the Boston Business Journal, this new store will be located at 143 Newbury Street. Currently, Google operates just three retail stores across the US, with two in New York and one in Mountain View, California.

This expansion means that Google aficionados in Boston and the surrounding areas will soon have a physical store to explore a wide range of Google products. While the location is a five-story, mixed-use space, Google’s retail store will occupy a section of the first floor. And some of the second floor will be utilized for storage purposes.

What are the perks you get at Google’s retail store

So, what can you expect at Google’s new retail store in Boston? Compared to the online stores, you’ll have the opportunity to get hands-on with various Google gadgets at the retail store. The store in Boston will offer products such as Pixel phones, Nest devices, and Fitbits. You can test out these devices and see if they’re the right fit for you before making a purchase. And if you do decide to buy, you’ll have the convenience of returning or exchanging products directly at the store.

Moreover, if you return a product and prefer a cash refund, you can get it at the retail store. This is a benefit you won’t get if you buy Google products online, as online refunds typically result in Store credit. Additionally, you can count on the store to provide convenient repair services, even if your Pixel device is out of warranty.

At the retail store, customers also have the option to schedule appointments with product experts. These experts will guide you through hardware setup, help with troubleshooting, and provide educational sessions.

Furthermore, you’ll get other perks that are also offered by online stores, such as special discounts, festival offers, and more. With trade-in programs, you can bring in your old phone to the retail store and get a trade-in credit.

So, if you live in or anywhere near Boston, then keep an eye out for the new Google store that will be opening at 143 Newbury Street in 2024. However, the exact date when the expected retail store will be available for visits isn’t available, as Google is yet to make the official announcement.
