Baldur's Gate 3 Honour Mode runs getting ruined by Bugs!

2023 Game of Year, Baldur’s Gate 3, is reportedly facing multiple bugs and issues in the newly released ‘Honour Mode’. The unforgiving difficulty mode is becoming more nightmarish due to these issues that are reportedly ending countless runs prematurely. But worry not, there is a workaround below that could help with the issues.

Honour Mode is a new difficulty option in Baldur’s Gate 3 that provides a serious challenge for seasoned players. It adds tougher bosses, stricter rules, a single save slot, and permadeath if the entire party falls in combat.

Unfortunately, many players and their hard work are being ruined by pesky bugs and crashes that still linger in some dark corners of the newly released update.

The sheer variety and number of these bugs occurring during different instances of the playthroughs have made Honour Mode even more nightmarish.

According to one report, one player lost their run as the Druids in the grove suddenly attacked their party without any reason. Another player said the Gnoll encounter in the Risen Road never initiated the cutscene to tame the leader and thus lost their run due to sheer Gnoll savagery.

But the most heartbreaking stories are of those who lost their run almost at the end of Act 3, either due to the bugged fights with the chosen or sometimes during the fight against the final boss.

Some players even said they lost due to a bugged elevator that made all of their party fall to their deaths… where’s the scroll of feather fall when you need it!

Baldur’s Gate 3 is racking accolades and achievement left and right, setting a new standard in the gaming eco-system. But these small issues are prone to leave some scratches to their otherwise perfect image.

But knowing Larian and their commitment to making their game as polished as possible, players are positive that they will soon patch out these discrepancies. With the latest hotfix #13 released on December 8, 2023, it is believed many of these issues will eventually die down.

However, if you are looking for a more instant solution, here’s a workaround:

• Go to App data/local/LarianStudios/ Baldur’s Gate 3/
• Then Delete modsettings.lsx in Mods folder
• After that go to Player profiles/public. Delete modsettings.lsx
• Load the game after and see if it crashes
