Unlike the case with Apple users, the latest Backup and Sync update (v3.42.9747.1898, released a few hours back) has brought good news for Windows 10 users – the mess triggered by 1803 update has finally been taken care of.

For those of you wondering what’s the case in point here, right after installing the Windows 10 (1803) update (pushed out in the second week of April), a humongous number Backup and Sync users lost their settings, preferences, and configurations set before installation. As a result, they had to sign in and reconfigure Backup and Sync.

As the matter caught heat, Google blamed the Windows OS update for corrupting the app’s configuration, and started working on fixing the mess it created. The wait is now over, as the latest version of the client has settled whatever caused the issue.

Backup and Sync release notes page got updated lately revealing the news about the bug fix saying:

Fixed an issue where the Windows 10 April 2018 Update caused Backup and Sync to lose its configuration settings, forcing users to sign in and reconfigure Backup and Sync.

So, those affected are suggested to download the latest version of Backup and Sync. Oh, and yes, do let us know in case the problem persists.
